Description
In collaboration with Pearson Education, we designed, tested, and produced a series of “Access Code Cards” that included an outer envelope with security zip strip, an instruction guide, and an access code card that contained a specific access code number.
This card has taken the place of the standard college textbook while still holding a shelf presence in the academic bookstore. The user would now be able to log into a designated online account to access all required reading.
The security of these cards was paramount in the design. The security measures on the cards were two-fold. The first required the user to open the main cards zip strip, the second was to open a security seal on the enclosed code card to access the variable code. The user could then use the code to access online content.
O2 Services
O2 handled all structural design, print production, and final finishing inclusive of imprinting the variable code data that required a 5 step QC process to ensure a zero percent miss rate. No blanks and no duplicates were allowed into the field. The codes are supplied to O2 and quarantined off line. The codes are held until the project is completed and then cleared from our files.
Return on Investment (ROI)
Pearson was able to rely on O2 for the preliminary design. We produced dummies for beta testing in the field. Our ability to react to changes and corrections with quick turnarounds of proofs and samples kept the program moving at all times. O2 handled the production and fulfillment of the first run. Our attention to detail allowed the client to meet their deadlines and offered an economic advantage and single source solution to Pearson Education.
